Participation in Training for Trainers
As part of the “Unity for Action” program, implemented by the IREX organization, an interactive quest game “In Search of the Long-Winged” is planned for children aged 10–13 in eighteen regions of Ukraine.
The purpose of the event is to increase the level of social cohesion, develop critical thinking and information resilience of adolescents, in particular among children from among internally displaced persons.
In accordance with the memorandum of cooperation with the public organization “PRO OSVIT”, under the leadership of the head of the organization, Doctor of Philosophy Olha KORINSKA, students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the implementation of this initiative in the Poltava region.
An important stage in the preparation for the quest was a specialized training for trainers (ToT), in which on March 13, 2026, bachelor’s students of the educational programs “Social Work and Counseling. Psychosocial Services” and “Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology” took part.
During the training, future facilitators mastered the methodology of conducting the quest, got acquainted with its game mechanics and practiced the skills of interacting with a children’s audience in conditions of crisis challenges. The participants not only studied the Longwing’s travel scenario in detail, but also received practical tools for creating a safe and inclusive environment that will contribute to the integration of children into local communities.
The quest game is planned to be held in the cities of Poltava, Myrhorod and Lubny from March to May 2026. Trained students will act as moderators and game leaders, helping participants to master important concepts of media literacy and information security in an accessible and playful way.
The event is implemented within the framework of the “Unity for Action” program, implemented by IREX with financial support from the US Department of State. The content of the publication is the sole responsibility of the NGO “PRO OSVIT” and Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and does not necessarily reflect the views of IREX and the US Department of State.
