During the workshop, the children created artworks using mixed media, combining collage and graphic techniques. The theme of the creative session was “The Sunflower — the Flower of the Sun.”

The young artists developed their creative thinking, imagination, and fine motor skills while experimenting with colours, expressing their creativity, and creating bright and unique compositions. Each artwork was special, reflecting the children’s individual moods, emotions, and personal vision of the sunflower.

At the end of the workshop, the young participants took their artworks home to share a little of the sunny mood with their families and friends.

The Kramatorsk District IDP Support Centre has been cooperating with the Faculty of Arts at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University for the second consecutive year. As part of this cooperation, university lecturers and students organise creative activities that combine elements of art therapy, socialisation, and artistic development.

Such meetings are particularly important for children who have experienced major changes in their familiar environment. Engaging in creative activities helps them adapt more easily to new circumstances, communicate with others, discover their abilities, and feel supported.

Creativity gives children not only new skills but also a sense of joy, safety, and belonging. It is through such sincere and meaningful encounters that trust, inspiration, and hope for a brighter future can grow.
