Meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences
At the beginning of the meeting, the results of the faculty’s participation in the University Day events were summarized. This year, the university celebrated a significant anniversary – 105 years since its foundation. The celebrations were held in Lubny and brought together representatives of the academic community, students and guests of the university.
During the celebration, students of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences received awards and diplomas for academic achievements and active participation in the life of the university. Among the awardees were D. Liakh and V. Ilnytska. Faculty teachers were awarded with honorary diplomas and diplomas from the Ministry of Education and Science and the university for their contribution to the development of educational and scientific activities.
As part of the University Day events, Professor O. Naboka gave a public lecture dedicated to the history and traditions of the university, which became an important component of the festive program and aroused considerable interest among the audience.
In addition, during the meeting, individual study schedules for students for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year were approved. Members of the Academic Council discussed the status of career guidance work of the faculty departments in the context of preparation for the 2026 admission campaign. The intensification of cooperation with secondary education institutions, the participation of teachers in career guidance events, and the systematic popularization of the faculty’s educational programs were noted. Special attention was paid to the conditions for registration at the National Vocational College in 2026 and the importance of mentoring support for applicants during this procedure.
A separate block of the meeting was devoted to issues of academic integrity. In particular, the criteria for the originality of works, for which the indicator of the level of originality of the text, determined using software and hardware tools for checking for plagiarism, were considered and approved. The peculiarities of determining the originality of scientific and educational and methodological texts in accordance with the fields of knowledge were also discussed, taking into account the specifics of legitimate borrowings and the professional context of various disciplines.
Within the scope of the “Miscellaneous” item, the issue of holding a logo competition for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities was raised. According to the results of the competition, the winner was V. Ilnytska, a student of education, whose work was recognized as the best and recommended for further use as an element of the visual identity of the faculty.
The members of the Academic Council paid special attention to the results of the II stage of the student competition “Shevchenko Well”. Over 700 student works were checked within the competition, which indicates significant interest in the event and its scale. The competition is gradually gaining an international level, attracting participants from different regions and countries. The members of the Academic Council expressed sincere gratitude to all teachers and scientists of the faculty who participated in checking the works and organizing the competition. Following the event, it is planned to prepare and publish a collection of the best student works.
The issue of organizing the educational process in the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year was also considered and the results of the advanced training of the senior lecturer of the Department of Literary Studies and Oriental Philology A. I. Gurduz were recognized.
The meeting of the Academic Council was held in a constructive atmosphere and testified to the active work of the faculty on the development of the educational environment, support of academic integrity and expansion of scientific and educational initiatives.
