Teachers of the Department of Early Childhood and Preschool Development Visited Kindergartens in Tallinn under the Erasmus+ Program
The main goal of the trip is to study advanced European experience, get acquainted with innovative methods of child development and integration of modern technologies into the educational process from an early age. Estonia is today one of the leaders in the field of digitalization of education, and Tallinn kindergartens impressed our colleagues with their progressive approach to learning.
The teachers were most impressed by the variety of children's technology and STEM equipment that Estonian educators actively use in their daily work. The teachers saw and tested with their own eyes:
-programmable mini-robots: children learn logic and the basics of programming by building special mazes for robots from wooden blocks or launching them on interactive colored mats;
-interactive boards and panels: instead of passively viewing screens, there is active interaction, team-based developmental games and creative tasks directly at the display;
-robot assistants for mathematics and logic: special smart toys help children solve their first mathematical examples in an easy, playful way;
-integration of LEGO technologies: construction is integrated into the educational environment as a means of developing fine motor skills, spatial imagination and critical thinking.
The teachers noted that all the equipment is as accessible as possible for children, and the training is built on the principle of “learning by playing”, where gadgets and robots are not a distraction, but a useful tool for learning about the world.
The experience gained during the internship will become the basis for updating the educational programs of our department. Innovative Estonian cases will be implemented in the training of future educators so that Ukrainian students will have the most modern methods of using STEM technologies and robotics in early childhood education.
We sincerely thank our Estonian colleagues for their hospitality, openness and inspiration! We are moving in step with the times and European educational standards!
