Teachers of the Primary Education Department Participate in UNESCO International Educational Event
The event brought together representatives of the educational and academic communities from different countries to discuss current issues in the development of education as an important tool for fostering a culture of peace, promoting and protecting human rights, strengthening international understanding, advancing global citizenship, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the lecture, international approaches to implementing the 2023 UNESCO Recommendation on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Sustainable Development were presented. The participants also learned about mechanisms for organizing national consultations, engaging key stakeholders, collecting and consolidating information, as well as procedures for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the relevant provisions in national education systems.
Particular attention was paid to cross-sectoral cooperation and the participation of educational institutions, teachers, students, civil society representatives, and public authorities in shaping education policy focused on peace, democracy, human rights, and sustainable development.
The teachers of the deparment had an opportunity to learn about international experience and current UNESCO approaches, as well as to participate in a professional discussion of contemporary challenges in education policy and practice. Participation in such events is an important component of the internationalization of the Primary Education Department. It contributes to expanding international professional dialogue and integrating European and global educational priorities into the training of future primary school teachers.
For Ukrainian education in the current context, it is particularly important to recognize education not only as a space for acquiring knowledge and professional training, but also as an effective tool for promoting peace, human dignity, mutual respect, responsibility, and democratic values.
The Primary Education Department continues to actively participate in international educational initiatives, expanding professional networks and incorporating relevant global approaches into its research, educational, and methodological activities.
