Regular Meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences
The agenda covered key areas of the faculty's activity - from scientific activity and the quality of the educational process to preparing students for graduation.
The first item on the agenda was a summary of the Science Days at the departments of the faculty. In their reports, the heads summarized the scientific activities carried out and outlined the main results of the work. The speeches noted a noticeable increase in student participation in scientific activities, an expansion of the thematic range of research and a variety of formats - round tables, scientific discussions, meetings with invited speakers, conferences. An important trend was the strengthening of interdisciplinary approaches and more active interaction between departments. Following the Science Days, the departments prepared and published collections of materials, formalized research results, and participants received certificates. It was noted that such events create a lively academic space in which applicants gradually enter the scientific community, gain experience in scientific research and public speaking.
The second block of discussion was devoted to the educational and methodological support of the educational process. In his speech, Artem Oleksandrovych focused on the updating and development of educational and methodological materials. It was about the preparation of educational and teaching aids, updating syllabi and methodological recommendations for educational components. The work of the departments on filling the disciplines with relevant materials, expanding the list of educational and methodological resources, as well as improving the methodological support of teaching was separately noted. The emphasis was placed on the preparation of materials that accompany the educational process and contribute to the high-quality assimilation of the content of the disciplines. As a result, it was emphasized that the scientific and pedagogical staff of the faculty systematically work in this direction. The developed materials meet modern requirements for the organization of the educational process, and teachers constantly improve their qualifications, undergo internships, including international ones, and implement the experience gained in educational courses.
Special attention was paid to preparation for the final certification of applicants for the first (bachelor's) level of education. A meaningful report was presented by Yulia Sergiiivna Nuzhna, who outlined key organizational aspects, requirements for qualifying works and the importance of adhering to the principles of academic integrity. Yulia Sergiivna specified the features of organizing the work of examination committees and supporting applicants at the final stage of study.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to career guidance work on the eve of the start of the admission campaign in 2026. In his speech, the dean of the faculty emphasized the events held and the further organization of work with applicants. It was about open days, meetings with future applicants, explaining the admission rules and features of the admission campaign. Key stages were outlined - deadlines for completing registrations, submitting applications and documents, working with electronic documents and offices. Separately, they focused on supporting applicants, providing consultations on the choice of educational programs, explaining the list of required documents, and supporting applications. The importance of clear and accessible communication was emphasized. The work of subject commissions that ensure the conduct of professional entrance exams, their organization and compliance with established requirements was also discussed. In general, the responsible and coordinated work of all those involved in the entrance campaign was emphasized.
Within the “Miscellaneous” section, the meeting participants discussed current issues of the faculty’s activities. In general, the meeting of the Academic Council demonstrated the coordinated work of the team of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, focused on quality, responsibility and development.
