Vitalii Tsymbaliuk currently serves as Consul at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Barcelona. Previously, he served as Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Ukraine in the Republic of Chile, and from 2022 to 2024 he chaired the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR).

This was a landmark achievement for Ukraine, as it was the first time in the country's history of membership that it had assumed the chairmanship of this prestigious international body. As Chair of the Commission, Vitalii Tsymbaliuk coordinated cooperation among 26 member states and the European Union to promote the conservation of the Southern Ocean's marine ecosystems and ensure the sustainable management of its living marine resources.

Despite his demanding diplomatic career and many years of cooperation with the National Antarctic Scientific Center of Ukraine, Vitalii Tsymbaliuk remains an active partner of the University. He has contributed to the review of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Ecology, helping to enhance them in line with current international standards and the evolving needs of employers.
