Traditionally, on this day, the city community gathered to honor one of the main symbols of Ukrainian statehood – the blue-and-yellow flag, which represents the freedom, independence, unity, and invincibility of the Ukrainian people.

During the ceremony, the National Flag of Ukraine was solemnly raised and a multi-meter-long national banner was brought in. The participants of the event observed a minute of silence in memory of the defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our state.

Also during the celebrations, military personnel, veterans, and volunteers were honored for their contribution to the defense of Ukraine and support of the community.

The festive atmosphere was complemented by creative performances by local art groups and performers, who presented bright patriotic numbers to the audience.

For the university community, participation in such events is a manifestation of respect for the national symbols, history and heroes of Ukraine, as well as confirmation of joint responsibility for preserving statehood and building the future of our country.
