On the eve of National Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine, students and employees of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University participated in a patriotic event organized by the Lubensk branch of the State Defense NGO.

During the meeting, they discussed the meaning of state symbols, Ukraine's historical path to independence, and the modern challenges facing the state in the conditions of a full-scale war.

Special attention was paid to the blue-yellow flag as a symbol of Ukrainian statehood, freedom, and invincibility. It was emphasized that 35 years ago, Ukraine gained independence peacefully, and today its defenders are fighting for its freedom and right to exist with weapons in their hands.

With a minute of silence, those present honored the memory of the Defenders of Ukraine, who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our state.

The speakers of the event were the head of the Lubny branch of the NGO "Defense of the State" Vitalii Holovko and the deputy head of the Lubny Union of Officers of Ukraine Leonid Symonenko.

The event ended with a thematic concert with the assistance of Volodymyr and Antonina Loik and a group of performers. Ukrainian song and art became an important part of the meeting, emphasizing the importance of preserving national culture, traditions and historical memory.

Such events are an important component of patriotic education, the formation of national consciousness and a responsible attitude towards the future of the state.
