On September 15, 2026, at the initiative of Liudmyla Horbatiuk, Head of the Department of Economics and Marketing and guarantor of the master’s degree programme in Economics, Serhii Rudenko, a master’s student in the Economics programme and a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, participated in the workshop “The Power of Knowledge: A Young Scientist’s Path to New Heights.”
The event was organized by the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in cooperation with the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy. Approximately 100 participants attended the meeting.
The workshop was led by Harold Kudler, MD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina; Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland; and former National Mental Health Policy Director at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The lecture addressed a highly relevant topic, focusing on the causes and consequences of professional burnout amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. During the session, the speaker highlighted key approaches to strengthening human resilience, particularly in the context of supporting active-duty service members and war veterans.
We express our gratitude to Dr. Harold Kudler for his concern for Ukraine and his attention to young military scientists.
