Participation in the Symposium of Young Scientists
The organizers of the symposium were the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Council of Young Scientists of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the Department of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies of KNU, the M. Maksymovych Scientific Library of KNU, the Council of Young Scientists of the M. Dragomanov Ukrainian State University, and the Scientific Library of USU.
The symposium program included discussions on topical topics for young scientists. For example, Doctor of Economics, Professor of KNU Hanna Kharlamova spoke about how best to search for scientific journals and publishing houses to publish their research. Given the latest requirements for postgraduate students, scientific and pedagogical workers (articles in journals indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science databases), it is necessary to understand what Ukrainian and international publications are. At the same time, it is worth looking for journals by specialization and subject, and not just focusing on indexing.
Doctors of Philosophy Vasyl Orishchuk and Maksym Valin conducted a training on how to work with artificial intelligence tools (Gemini, NotebookLM). AI helps a lot with the technical aspects of a scientist's work, for example, organizing a list of references.
In addition to AI tools, participants of the symposium of young scientists learned about vibe coding or how to program using artificial intelligence. The above was told by the leading specialist of the patent and licensing department of the research part of the KNU, Andrii Chuian. Yehor Brailian had the opportunity to ask him a question about how video games can be used when teaching the history of antiquity and the Middle Ages.
In addition to the practical aspects of the young scientist's work, the symposium program also included a cultural program and networking. The participants of the symposium visited the National Museum of History of Ukraine, where they learned more about the past of our state through artifacts from different eras.
It is worth noting the training on psychological resilience, which was conducted by the candidate of psychological sciences, deputy director for scientific and methodological work of the municipal institution "Nikopol Professional Pedagogical College" of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Lyudmila Semencha. The participants of the symposium drew, wrote numbers, and made visualizations in order to distract themselves a little from the terrible realities of war.
As a result of participating in the symposium of young scientists, Yehor Brailian had the opportunity to meet with teachers from other higher education institutions and agree on holding joint events (guest lectures, seminars, workshops) in the field of history.
We remind you that Yehor Brailian was the speaker of the lecture from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in October 2025 on the policy of Great Britain towards Ukraine during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
