Participation in the “Every City Has Me” Programme
The course focuses on developing a comprehensive understanding of how the modern urban environment functions, how people interact with their surroundings, and how local communities can strengthen their influence. For future specialists in the natural sciences and agricultural fields, urban studies is of particular interest, as the harmonious development of cities is impossible without ecosystem conservation, sustainable use of natural resources, the development of green spaces, and responsible management of community resources.
During the latest module of the programme, participants explored important aspects of shaping the modern city:
Cultural and natural heritage: rethinking the local identity of the Myrhorod area, integrating historical heritage into the contemporary urban fabric, and protecting unique recreational landscapes.
Accessibility and universal design: creating a comfortable, open, and accessible environment for every resident — from ensuring accessible pedestrian areas and public spaces to promoting social inclusion and equal opportunities.
The course covers a broad range of practical areas, including care for people and nature, mobility within the community, sustainable tourism, a project workshop, and the specifics of local budget formation.
Participation in the programme is an excellent example of non-formal education. Upon successfully completing the course, participants receive official certificates, and the learning outcomes may be recognized as academic credits in related courses.
