In the current conditions of war, humanitarian challenges, mass migrations and profound socio-psychological changes in Ukraine, the issue of psychological resilience of teachers, scientific and pedagogical workers and education managers is becoming particularly relevant. The educational community is faced with the need not only to transfer knowledge, but also to ensure emotional stability, support and recovery of participants in the educational process. The concept of internship has an interdisciplinary approach and is based on modern scientific approaches to psychosocial rehabilitation, development of resilience and effective communication in crisis situations, combining the best international practices of Canada, Ukraine and Poland.
The war in Ukraine has caused an unprecedented increase in the level of psychological strain, stress and emotional exhaustion among teachers and students. Most educational workers have found themselves in a situation of secondary traumatization, combining professional responsibility with personal losses. International practice shows that the development of psychological resilience and effective communication are key factors in stabilizing the education system in post-crisis conditions. The proposed internship is aimed at forming a new culture of interaction in education, based on trust, empathy, security and professional support, as well as at creating institutional models of resilience in educational institutions.
The international internship program was developed at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences of the University of Manitoba (Canada) in collaboration with the Department of Polish-Ukrainian Studies of the Jagiellonian University (Poland), the Zustrich Foundation (Poland), the Luhansk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education (Ukraine), the Sobornist NGO (Ukraine), and the Scientific and Practical Center for Medical, Social and Psychotechnologies of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University (Ukraine).
Dmytro Yurioovych Drozhzhyn, Nataliia Volodymyrivna Omelchenko and Anna Serhiivna Brailko completed all training modules (basic part: psychological resilience and communication strategies in crisis conditions: global context and Ukrainian challenges; trauma, recovery and resilience: understanding PTSD in the pedagogical and academic community; conflict competence; formation of coping strategies; foundations of psychological resilience of the individual in crisis situations; individual part - development of a project and implementation of a model of psychological resilience of pedagogical workers in crisis conditions); participated in practical sessions and group discussions; successfully passed the final test; successfully represented psychological resilience models and developed projects.
As a result of the advanced training, a systemic understanding of psychological resilience as an interdisciplinary phenomenon containing pedagogical, psychological, communication and rehabilitation components was formed; practical skills of crisis communication, self-regulation and facilitation were acquired; improving the quality of the psychological climate in the educational environment. Dmytro Drozhzhyn prepared an individual project on the topic "Expert Support for Strategic Local Development Planning in Ukraine", Natalia Omelchenko and Anna Brailko joined the implementation of a collective project on the topic "Professional Identity as a Mechanism of Meaning-Making and a Foundation of Psychological Resilience".
Thus, the goal of the international internship was achieved: to promote the restoration of the psychological health of scientific and pedagogical workers and applicants from the consequences of the war, to master effective self-support strategies, create a healthy communication space and ensure long-term psychological well-being.
