Participant of the Scientific School
The 4th year student majoring in 032 History and Archeology Viktoria Makarenko became a participant in the scientific school “Transcarpathia in Transcarpathian style. Experience of the region in cooperation between national communities and development prospects” which took place on March 12-15.
The work began with a panel discussion “Transcarpathians: who are we?”. The participants, together with leading experts, sought answers to the question of forming a unique regional code. The logical conclusion of the intellectual debates was a conceptual excursion to Uzhhorod, where history came to life in architecture and urban legends.
The program of the second day included lectures on such topics as: “Transcarpathians: ethnic groups and communities” and “Geographical location and historical development of Transcarpathia” on the basis of the Transcarpathian Hungarian University named after Ferenc Rákóczi II. They also discussed the tourism potential of the Transcarpathian region and the prospects for the development of border regions.
During four days, the scientific school combined theoretical knowledge with field research, delving into the complex issues of regional identity formation and the historical development of the border region.
