The organizers of the event were Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and the Poltava regional branch of the NGO "Defense of the State". The initiator and moderator of the meeting was the head of the Poltava regional branch of the NGO "Defense of the State", Doctor of Public Administration, Professor of the Department of LTSNU Petro VORONA.

The event brought together veterans, members of public organizations and representatives of the university community around the important topic of the formation of Ukrainian statehood.

The participants of the event discussed the historical significance of the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Ukraine on July 16, 1990, its role in the process of restoring Ukraine's independence and forming the modern Ukrainian state. During the discussion, it was emphasized that this document laid the legal and political foundations for the further proclamation of Ukraine's independence, the affirmation of democratic values, the right of the Ukrainian people to self-determination and the building of their own state.

During the event, Professor of the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture Vasyl SUTULA, Head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of LTSNU, Associate Professor of the Department Volodymyr MOROZ, Head of the Lubny Branch of the NGO "Defense of the State" Vitalii GOLOVKO and Head of the Lubny Union of Officers of Ukraine Mykola IVASHCHENKO shared their thoughts and vision of the importance of state sovereignty.

The speakers focused on the importance of preserving historical memory, national unity, civic responsibility and patriotic education of youth. Special emphasis was placed on the fact that in the conditions of modern challenges, Ukrainian sovereignty is strengthened daily by the courage of the military, the resilience of citizens and the joint work of all who work for the future of Ukraine.

A minute of silence was held to honor the memory of the defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of our state.

The event was held in an atmosphere of sincere dialogue, respect for history and pride in the Ukrainian state. The participants had the opportunity to exchange views, share their own experiences and once again realize the importance of statehood as a fundamental value of the Ukrainian people.
