Lecture Series by Practicing Designers
The lecture series is aimed at combining theoretical training of students with real experience of specialists in the field of design.
The program of professionally oriented practice of training masters in the specialty B2 “Design” is aimed at acquiring skills and abilities for practical teaching design activities in higher education institutions.
The first event was a lecture by the invited designer-practitioner Olha Cherniaieva on the topic: “From picture to life: how a designer creates experience, and visual perception increases value.” The participants of the meeting learned about the modern understanding of the designer’s role, who works not only with visual form, but also with the creation of a holistic user experience. Special attention was paid to the development of visual culture and the formation of “perception” as an important professional skill. The speaker also outlined the main stages of work on a design project – from idea to its implementation – and shared examples from her own practice.
The next event in the series was an online lecture by designer Daryna Horobets on the topic: “Working with a client in the process of developing a logo”. During the meeting, the specifics of communication with the customer at different stages of creating an identity were considered. The lecturer shared practical advice on effective interaction with clients, outlined strategies for finding customers in modern conditions and presented relevant platforms for freelance work. Particular attention was paid to the formation of professional communication as a key factor in successful design activities.
The series continued with an online lecture by Anna Lukashevska on the topic: “Color models: RGB, CMYK, HSB, LAB. Color palette and color correction”. The lecture examined in detail the technical aspects of working with color in design. The speaker explained the differences between the main color models, the features of their application in different environments and demonstrated practical approaches to creating a harmonious color palette and performing color correction.
Such lectures contribute to the expansion of the professional worldview of future designers, the formation of aesthetic culture and the acquisition of experience in practical design activities.
