The unique photo exhibition “A Step to Antarctica: Colors of the White Continent,” organized by the Faculty of Natural and Agrarian Sciences of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, continues to operate in the Palace of Culture of the Svitlovodsk City Council. The exhibition was opened on July 2 on the occasion of the grand opening of the LTSNU consulting center in Svitlovodsk.

The author of the photos is a graduate of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, candidate of biological sciences, photographer, researcher, volunteer, participant of the 27th and 28th Ukrainian Antarctic expeditions Serhii Hlotov, who currently works as a senior lecturer at the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology.

To mark the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, an exhibition tour was organized for the youth of the city of Svitlovodsk. Thanks to the unique photographs, the young men and women made a symbolic journey to one of the most remote and mysterious corners of our planet - Antarctica. They had the opportunity to see the majestic glaciers, the amazing world of Antarctic flora and fauna, as well as feel the atmosphere of the daily work of Ukrainian polar explorers at the Akademik Vernadsky station.

We sincerely thank the director of the Cultural Center "Palace of Culture" Larysa Liashenko for her assistance in organizing a visit to the exhibition. This exhibition has not only high artistic value, but also fulfills an important educational mission - it popularizes science, geography, natural research, acquaints young people with the achievements of Ukrainian scientists and inspires them to learn about the world and their own discoveries.

The photo exhibition "Step to Antarctica: Colors of the White Continent" once again proves that science can fascinate, and photography can open new horizons. It is such initiatives that help the younger generation see the beauty of our planet, believe in their own capabilities and take the first step towards future scientific achievements.
