Training from the AUP
On May 12 and 13, teachers of the Department of Design and Media Production, Alona Tereshchenko and Anatolii Mishin, participated in a practical training from the Academy of the Ukrainian Press together with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Ukraine "European Standard of Journalism: From Myth to Material."
For two days, participants found themselves in the format of an interactive quest “Newsroom 2026: Last Deadline”, selecting topics from the “walls of information chaos”, checking facts using European sources, refuting fakes, looking for heroes for their stories and turning dry numbers into living texts that engage the reader.
Trainers: Valerii Ivanov, President of the Academy of Ukrainian Press, Doctor of Philology, Professor; Tetiana Ivanova, Media Expert of the Academy of Ukrainian Press, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Social Communications of Mariupol State University; Yulia Surkova, Media Trainer, Military Journalist and Reporter, works with Ukrainian and international media, specializes in reporting from frontline “hot spots”, cooperates with international agencies (AFP) and UN projects (UNICEF), mentor of media projects of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
