Modern Linguistic Studies: Foreign Languages as a Tool for Understanding the World
The participants presented their research and practical developments related to modern trends in the study of foreign languages and cultures, raised issues of the peculiarities of intercultural communication, the role of languages in the formation of worldviews, problems of translation and language adaptation. All foreign languages studied at the university were presented at the meeting: English, German, French, Chinese and Japanese.
The discussion turned out to be lively and multifaceted: the speeches showed that foreign languages today are not only a tool for professional training, but also a means of expanding cultural horizons, forming critical thinking, and developing the ability for intercultural dialogue.
The atmosphere of the round table was both academic and friendly, and our young researchers had the opportunity to feel like part of the scientific community. Each report provoked interested questions and discussions, which confirmed the relevance of the topics and the importance of such meetings for the formation of professional competencies of future specialists.
The meeting became convincing evidence that foreign languages remain the key to knowledge of the world, intercultural understanding and professional growth.
