This event deserves special attention, because an Olympiad of this level allows you to identify gifted young people who are destined to become the future elite of the geographical field. Today, geography in Ukraine has acquired strategic and defensive importance, becoming one of the foundations of national security.

This year's competition brought together 163 of the best 8–11the grade pupils from all regions of Ukraine. The high level of organization of the event was ensured by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, local authorities and the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The Lviv Professional College of Hotel, Tourism and Restaurant Service became the base of the event, the staff of which demonstrated high hospitality skills and created appropriate conditions for the work of participants and experts.

The jury members, among whom were leading scientists, methodologists and teachers of the country, demonstrated unity and professionalism in decision-making, ensuring an objective assessment of the knowledge of young geographers.
