Workshop “Educational Portal: First Steps in Moodle”
The aim of the event was to familiarise students who had recently started their studies with the capabilities of the university’s educational portal and to develop practical skills in using it as part of the learning process. Confident use of digital learning tools helps students organise their independent work effectively, complete assignments on time and maintain regular communication with their lecturers.
During the workshop, participants were introduced step by step to the main features of the Moodle platform. In particular, they were shown how to log in to the system, find courses and the required learning materials, complete and upload assignments, take tests, and view their grades and lecturers’ feedback.
Special attention was given to using the calendar and notification features to keep track of assignment deadlines, as well as to common mistakes that may occur when submitting completed work.
The practical part of the workshop involved students working directly with the educational portal. They had the opportunity to practise the demonstrated procedures, test their skills, ask questions and receive further explanations. This approach helped them not only become familiar with the platform’s functionality but also better understand how to use it in their everyday studies.
The online workshop was an important step towards developing students’ digital literacy and helping them adapt to an educational process that makes use of a digital learning environment.
The Department would like to thank the students for their active participation, interest and willingness to master new learning tools, and wishes them every success in their studies!
