Online Participation in the Forum
On April 28, a landmark international forum "From Diplomacy of Resistance to Diplomacy of Action" was held in Kyiv, which became an important platform for understanding new approaches to Ukraine's foreign policy in the context of ongoing war and global transformations. Lecturers of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, students majoring in "Political Science", "International Relations", "History and Archaeology" took part online in the forum.
The event was organized by the Foreign Policy Council "Ukrainian Prism" together with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, which, through its Representative Office in Ukraine, traditionally supports the development of democratic dialogue and international cooperation. The forum brought together leading Ukrainian officials, diplomats and analysts, as well as authoritative experts from Chile, India and Egypt, in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.
The discussions focused on the key challenges and opportunities facing Ukrainian diplomacy at the current stage. The forum participants emphasized that the period of diplomacy of resistance, which became decisive in the first years of full-scale aggression, is gradually transforming into a phase of diplomacy of action - more proactive, strategically directed and focused on long-term partnerships.
Special attention was paid to expanding the geography of Ukraine's foreign policy contacts, in particular, intensifying cooperation with the countries of the Global South. Representatives of Chile, India and Egypt shared their own vision of Ukraine's role in the new architecture of international relations, emphasizing the importance of equal dialogue, economic cooperation and cultural diplomacy.
The forum became not only a platform for exchanging views, but also a space for forming practical recommendations on strengthening Ukraine's international subjectivity. The participants emphasized the need to move from reactive politics to proactive diplomacy, which involves actively shaping the agenda and promoting Ukrainian interests at the global level.
Holding such an event once again demonstrated that Ukraine is confidently establishing itself as an active player in international politics, capable not only of responding to challenges, but also of offering new approaches to ensuring security, stability, and development in the world.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Ukrainian Prism Foreign Policy Council and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation for the invitation and opportunity to participate in the forum “From Diplomacy of Resistance to Diplomacy of Action”. The event became an important platform for a meaningful dialogue and exchange of professional opinions on the future of Ukrainian foreign policy. It was a great honor to join the professional discussion together with leading Ukrainian and international experts. The discussion of current challenges and prospects for the development of Ukraine's foreign policy has become a valuable contribution to the formation of new approaches to diplomacy in the context of modern global transformations.
