Orientation Conference on Teaching and Research Practicum for Primary Education Master's Students
During the conference, students were introduced to the purpose, objectives, content, and organisational features of the teaching and research practicum, as well as the requirements for completing individual assignments, maintaining practicum documentation, and presenting the results of their practical work.
Natalia Mordovtseva, Head of the Primary Education Department, Head of the practicum, and coordinator of the Primary Education programme, emphasized the particular importance of practical training for future master's-level specialists. The practicum enables students to combine the theoretical knowledge acquired during their studies with direct professional and research activities in real primary-school settings.
Particular attention was paid to students' work in primary-school classes. The practicum gives future specialists an opportunity not only to deepen their professional competencies and improve their ability to organise the educational process and select and apply modern teaching methods and technologies, but also to observe the results of their application through direct interaction with primary-school pupils.
An important component of the teaching and research practicum is its research focus. It was emphasized that the practicum provides master's students with a unique opportunity to test, in real school settings, specific principles, methods, technologies, and diagnostic tools developed as part of the experimental component of their master's theses.
This enables students to collect empirical data, assess the effectiveness of their proposed educational approaches, analyse the results obtained, and use them when completing their master's research.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of adhering to the principles of academic integrity and pedagogical ethics, demonstrating a responsible attitude toward professional duties, conducting research appropriately, and maintaining constructive interaction with all participants in the educational process.
We wish our master's students a productive practicum, exciting professional discoveries, successful implementation of their research ideas, and meaningful achievements on their path toward pedagogical excellence!
