The main purpose of the meeting was to help first-year students adapt more quickly to the new educational environment, better navigate university life, and confidently begin the academic year.

During the lecture, Volodymyr Moroz used a video presentation to familiarize students with the University’s official website, the specifics of distance learning, and communication through social media. First-year students also learned about the University’s administration through the relevant section of the official website.

Special attention was paid to ensuring barrier-free access to quality education, everyday life, and leisure activities for students with special needs. The participants discussed the importance of an accessible and comfortable educational environment in which every student has the opportunity to study, develop, and actively participate in university life.

Volodymyr Moroz also emphasized the importance of combining professional knowledge and skills — hard skills — with the development of soft skills, including communication, leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and the ability to adapt to new conditions. According to him, this combination is an important component of future professional success.

The meeting also addressed issues of the internationalization of education, opportunities for academic development, and the role of student self-government as an important element of the university community.

Concluding the lecture, Volodymyr Moroz encouraged first-year students not to be afraid of new challenges, to remain active and curious, and to be open to the opportunities offered by the University:

“Do not be afraid to ask questions, take initiative, and find your own path. Student years are a time when you not only acquire a profession but also develop yourself as an individual. Make use of every opportunity for personal growth, support one another, and remember that the University is always there for you.”

Such meetings help first-year students feel more confident in their new environment and become a full-fledged part of the large family of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University from their very first days.
