Forum of the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities
The forum was organized by the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities together with the Kharkiv City Council in the heroic city of Kharkiv.
The forum brought together representatives of state authorities, local governments, higher education institutions, scientists, young scientists and the educational community from different regions of Ukraine. Its goal was to consolidate the efforts of the state, local governments and higher education institutions to support and develop science in the face of military challenges, create opportunities for the professional development of young scientists, as well as form a modern scientific and educational space in frontline communities. The event discussed issues of preserving the scientific potential of Ukraine, developing innovative activities, supporting research initiatives of youth and expanding international scientific and educational cooperation.
The forum was attended by: Kharkiv Mayor, Chairman of the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities Igor Terekhov, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Kharkiv Region, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine Volodymyr Ponomarenko, People's Deputy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovations Serhii Babak, Rector of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Tetiana Kaganovska, Rector of the Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University Yevhen Trushlyakov, Rector of the University of Customs and Finance Dmytro Bocharov, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Ruslan Zaporozhchenko, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Yurii Kondratiuk Poltava Polytechnic National University Oleksandra Maslii and other representatives of the scientific and educational community of Ukraine.
The event brought together about 100 heads and representatives of higher education institutions from across the country, government agencies, scientists and young scientists to discuss the role of science and universities in the post-war reconstruction of the state, the development of communities and the formation of the economy of the future.
Opening the forum, the head of the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities emphasized that the reconstruction of Ukraine should be based not only on investments in infrastructure, but also on its own scientific, educational and intellectual potential. It is universities, scientists and young researchers who should become the driving force of innovative changes that will ensure the sustainable development of the state and its competitiveness in the future.
During the discussion panel, the participants discussed the strategic role of universities in the processes of rebuilding the country, legislative initiatives for the development of science in wartime, the challenges and prospects for the functioning of frontline higher education institutions, as well as the issues of supporting young scientists and preserving the scientific potential of Ukraine.
For Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, participation in the forum has become an important platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience and establishment of new partnerships. It is especially valuable that the voice of displaced higher education institutions and scientists from frontline regions is now heard at the all-Ukrainian level and is taken into account when forming state policy in the field of science and education.
Therefore, the participation of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University in the All-Ukrainian Forum has become another important step towards the formation of joint decisions, the development of inter-university cooperation and the creation of new opportunities for the development of Ukrainian science, education and the young scientific generation, which is already working on the future of our state today.
