Professional Seminar on Dissertation Discussion
On May 14, 2026, a professional scientific seminar of the Pedagogy Department was held at LTSNU, dedicated to the discussion of the dissertation research of the candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Orishchenko Anton Vyacheslavovich on the topic: "Max Schlossberg's Pedagogical School and its Significance for the Development of American Trumpet Performance in the Second Half of the 20th Century" in the specialty 011 Educational, Pedagogical Sciences.
The meeting was held in a mixed format - offline and on the Google Meet platform. The seminar was chaired by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Pedagogy Lyudmila Leonidivna Butenko. The seminar was attended by scientific and pedagogical workers of the university, reviewers, representatives of the academic community and the scientific supervisor of the candidate - Maksym Gennadiyovich Saybekov, Doctor of Philosophy, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Design and Media Production.
During his speech, Anton Orishchenko presented the results of his scientific research, dedicated to the study of the pedagogical heritage of the outstanding American trumpeter and teacher Max Schlossberg, whose methodology significantly influenced the development of professional music education and trumpet performance in the world. The dissertation reveals the features of Max Schlossberg's pedagogical school, analyzes his methodological approaches, performance techniques, and influence on the formation of the modern system of training wind musicians.
The scientific novelty of the work lies in the comprehensive historical and pedagogical analysis of Max Schlossberg's school, the introduction of little-known documentary sources into scientific circulation, and the substantiation of the importance of foreign musical and pedagogical experience for the improvement of modern Ukrainian art education. The practical significance of the research is confirmed by the implementation of its results in the educational process of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and other educational institutions of Ukraine.
During the professional discussion, the reviewers - Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Leonid Tsesarevich Vakhovskyi and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Liudmyla Mykolaivna Sbitneva - provided positive feedback on the dissertation work, noting its relevance, scientific soundness and practical significance.
According to the results of an open vote, the seminar participants unanimously supported the decision to recommend Anton Orishchenko's dissertation for defense in a specialized academic council.
