International Mother Language Day
On February 21, the whole world celebrated the International Mother Language Day. On this occasion, the Department of Ukrainian Language and Journalism of LTSNU invited students of higher and general secondary education, scientific and pedagogical and pedagogical workers to join the celebration of the International Mother Language Day, in particular, to unite around the mother tongue.
During the week, everyone had the opportunity to take part in the university-wide thematic quiz “My Mother Tongue”; delve into the thematic group of native and borrowed words related to embroidery, completing the task “The Language of Embroidery – Catch the Question”; join the language quiz from the Luhansk Regional State Administration “The Ukrainian Language Consists of Vowels, Consonants and Tenderness”, which is dedicated to the linguistic features of the Luhansk dialect.
More than 80 connoisseurs of their native language took an active part in the quizzes. Each participant had the opportunity to find out the correct answers to the quiz questions, as copies of the questionnaires were sent to respondents by e-mail. The organizers of the quiz did not determine the winners, but each participant had the opportunity to independently check their own answers.
The Ukrainian language is our national pride. Let it sound in every home, in every heart, uniting us into a great, strong and independent nation. Let us unite around our native language!
Let us respect our native language together! Let us take care of its strength and beauty!
