Science Days 2026 at the Pedagogy Department
Students were involved in discussing issues related to the essence of the post-truth phenomenon in modern society, the transformation of the understanding of post-truth in various contexts (politics, media, science), the main markers of post-truth (the priority of emotions, the use of manipulation, the "information bubble", the "echo chamber" effect, etc.). Attention was focused on the problem of the reliability of scientific facts in the post-truth era, the loss of trust in the institute of expertise, etc. In the process of constructive discussion, the issue of the specificity of psychological and pedagogical research in the post-truth era was discussed.
On April 29, 2026, for 1st-year students majoring in A7 Physical Culture and Sports, the teachers of the Pedagogy Department Viktoria Shvyrka and Olena Pavliuk held a presentation "Book Space of Ideas". The event was dedicated to contemporary literature that focuses on developing skills that are the foundation of success in education, professional activities, and a harmonious life.
Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a selection of publications that help develop critical thinking, emotional intelligence, creativity, and a systematic approach to problem solving. Students were introduced to publications by famous authors on transforming mechanical reading into an active process of deep analysis and critical evaluation of information (“Conscious Reading – SKILLS for Life” by V. Sadkin; four “pillars” of learning (attention, active involvement, error correction, consolidation) and an explanation of the unique plasticity of the human brain compared to artificial intelligence (“How We Learn” by S. Dean); seeing the world through relationships and feedback loops, which is critically important for making wise decisions in education and management (“The Art of Systematic Thinking” by D. Meadows). The overarching idea of the event is that books are not just sources of knowledge, but real guides for self-knowledge and personal growth.
