Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation at the ER IBMPA
Traditionally, representatives of the institute’s administration, scientific and pedagogical workers and students joined in laying flowers on the Walk of Fame. The participants of the event honored the memory of the fallen heroes who gave their lives for peace, freedom and independence, expressing deep gratitude to all fighters for the peaceful future of Ukraine.
Also, in a remote format, an online event “We Remember for the Future” was held, which united education students and teachers around the theme of historical memory, peace and humanity.
The event began with a speech by the Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work Yulia BUTENKO, who emphasized the importance of preserving historical truth, forming the national consciousness of youth and realizing the price of peace in today’s conditions.
As part of the event, a student Viktoriia BORYSENKO presented a report dedicated to the key events of World War II, the role of Ukraine in the fight against Nazism, and the importance of historical memory for the modern generation. Special attention was paid to the contribution of the Ukrainian people to the victory and the need to counteract historical myths.
The emotional part of the event was the poetic page “Voice of Memory”, during which students Tetiana MARTYNENKO and Veronika VIUHINA read thematic poems about war, human losses, memory, and hope for a peaceful future.
The meeting continued with a viewing of the documentary video “The Myth of the Great Patriotic War”, which gave the participants the opportunity to rethink individual historical narratives and deepen their knowledge about the events of World War II.
At the end, all those present joined in a moment of silence, honoring the memory of those who died during the war and all who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
Summing up the event, the organizers emphasized that the memory of the tragic pages of history is an important component of the upbringing of the younger generation, and preserving the truth about the past is the key to a peaceful future.
