Courses on Modern Information Technologies for Pupils
The first course completed was the course “Information Technologies. Multimedia Objects and VR”, which was aimed at introducing young people to promising digital technologies, multimedia content and the possibilities of virtual and augmented reality.
During the course, children received thorough knowledge of modern types of digital multimedia content, the principles of operation of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, as well as the features of creating 360-degree photo and video content. The training combined theoretical classes with practical work, which allowed schoolchildren not only to get acquainted with the latest technologies, but also to independently apply them in practice.
The total duration of the course was 36 academic hours and included twelve practical classes. During this time, participants learned to work with tools for creating AR and VR content, mastered the technology of shooting, processing and publishing 360 photos and 360 videos, got acquainted with the basics of working in the Unity environment and gained practical skills in developing simple mobile VR applications. Special attention was paid to the process of preparing and publishing mobile applications on the Google Play service.
After completing the training, the participants knew the classification of modern digital multimedia content, the principles of creating augmented and virtual reality objects, the technology of 360-degree shooting and the main stages of mobile development. The practical component of the course allowed each student to create their own multimedia materials, VR photo tours and get their first experience with modern digital creativity tools.
Conducting such courses was an important step in popularizing innovative educational technologies among young people and demonstrated the relevance of using digital tools in education. The experience gained confirmed that the introduction of virtual and augmented reality technologies opens up new opportunities for the development of creative thinking, digital literacy and practical competencies of pupils.
The methodological approaches and modern technological solutions developed during the course are planned to be implemented in the educational process of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. The use of AR/VR technologies, multimedia content, 360-degree visualization tools and mobile development will become one of the promising areas of modernization of the university's educational process, aimed at training specialists capable of working effectively in the conditions of digital transformation of education.
