Campaign in Support of Prisoners of War and Missing Ukrainian Defenders
On 5 July, the city of Lubny hosted the "We Are Waiting for Everyone to Come Home" motorcycle and car rally - a peaceful campaign dedicated to supporting Ukrainian prisoners of war and defenders who are missing in action. The large-scale patriotic event proceeded along Volodymyrskyi Avenue, the city's main thoroughfare, bringing together concerned citizens in support of the vital cause of returning Ukraine's Heroes home.
Among the participants was Petro Vorona, a representative of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. Dr. Vorona is a Doctor of Science in Public Administration, Professor in the Department of Public Service and Educational Institution Management at the Educational and Research Institute of Business, Management and Public Administration, Head of the Poltava Regional Branch of the NGO "Defense of the State", and a combat veteran. Riding his motorcycle, he expressed solidarity with his fellow service members, their families, and all those who await the return of their loved ones, once again demonstrating the resilience of the Ukrainian spirit, the unity of society, and gratitude to those defending the nation.
A convoy of cars and motorcycles carrying Ukrainian national flags and campaign banners drew the community's attention to the fate of Ukrainian service members who remain prisoners of war or are missing in action. Family members of the defenders, civic activists, and many other concerned citizens also joined the initiative, united by the belief that "Bring Everyone Home" is not merely a slogan, but a shared mission and a matter of honour.
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University consistently supports civic and patriotic initiatives that promote national unity, stand with Ukraine's defenders, and preserve the memory of their sacrifice. Today, more than ever, it is essential to stand together, support one another, and continue working toward the return of every Ukrainian to their home. We believe in our defenders, honour their courage, and remain committed to building a strong, free, and independent Ukraine.
