Adaptation Training “The First Step into a Profession”
The training aimed to introduce first-year students to their new educational environment, reduce anxiety associated with changes in their usual way of life, and foster positive motivation for learning. Adaptation involves not only becoming accustomed to a new schedule and teachers’ requirements but also psychologically accepting a new social role as a student.
During the training, participants took part in introductory, team-building, and self-presentation activities. They discussed their expectations of studying, their concerns, and possible ways of overcoming them. In a friendly and informal atmosphere, the first-year students had an opportunity to ask questions, share their impressions, and receive practical advice on organising their studies and managing their time effectively.
The students also learned about the support resources available at the college.
The training was held as part of the nationwide mental health programme “How Are You?” and marked an important first step towards building trusting relationships within the new student community.
The first-year students found the event engaging and useful, and an exciting and meaningful educational journey lies ahead of them.
