The Ukrainian-German Historical Commission has announced a competition for four scholarships to conduct research in Germany for a period of up to one month. The programme is intended for historians working on German or German-Ukrainian topics within the framework of Master’s, PhD, or doctoral research, as well as postdoctoral projects.

Participants will have the opportunity to work in archives, libraries, and research institutions in Germany, as well as to take part in academic events related to their research topics. Applications are also open to Ukrainian researchers currently residing abroad, provided they were living in Ukraine before 24 February 2022.

The application deadline is 9 May 2026.

The scholarships are funded with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
