Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Luhansk Oblast, founded in 1921. The university has gone through numerous challenges, including evacuations during military conflicts, but has remained a powerful educational and scientific center.
Today, it offers about 250 specialties, continuing to lead the field of education and science in Eastern Ukraine.
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, despite Russian aggression and occupation of the main educational bases in Luhansk region, continues its activities in exile, temporarily located in Poltava region. After being relocated in 2014 and re-evacuated in 2022, the university quickly resumed the educational process, using distance learning technologies and supporting scientific and educational work through electronic platforms.
