The staff of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University celebrated the Knowledge Day.
The first day of autumn is always marked by peculiarity and significance, because it opens a serious period – the time of study. The time for acquiring knowledge, which in the future will become a weighty baggage, which will help you navigate the fleeting rhythm of life and will give you the opportunity to choose the right path to the future.
On this day, students and teachers traditionally exchanged warm words of congratulations and wishes from the very morning. In compliance with the quarantine requirements, introductory lectures for freshmen took place, where deans and directors of structural subdivisions greeted them on the beginning of a new stage in their life and wished fruitful work and a serious desire for knowledge. The badges with the symbols of Alma Mater, which every freshman received, became a symbol of joining the university family.
The festivities continued with the festive line, which began with the introduction of flags and the performance of the national anthem. The honorary right to introduce the State Flag of Ukraine and the flag of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University were given to students Oleksii Kalinin and Mykyta Harkun.
The Acting Rector Vitalii Kurylo congratulated students, teachers and staff: “This academic year has begun at our university for the 100th time. Students and teachers have always held on tightly, complementing and improving each other, which is the driving force behind HEI. Our university is a truly progressive educational institution that boldly looks into its future. Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University did not break down during the difficult years of evacuation. Even though we are now located not in our hometown of Luhansk, but in 5 cities of Ukraine, we send our greetings to all our students and colleagues from here, because Shevchenko’s people are united. I wish each of you good health, success and continuous developmentˮ.
The chairman of the student self-government Oleksandr Mironenko addressed the freshmen with the following words: “Today you entered our native Alma Mater for the first time. The entire team of student self-government wishes you inspiration, to be smart and active. Do not hesitate and join the student lifeˮ.
Today has become especially important and exciting for freshmen, because they have embarked on a difficult, but interesting and exciting path to knowledge, new achievements and independent life. From the whole team, the right to read the oath, the loyalty to which the students of our university must carry in the learning process, fell to the freshmen Daryna and Oleksandra Mezherytski. The girls’ slight emotion added to this moment extraordinary emotionality and pride in the future.
The bright performances of our soloists and the choreographic collective added a solemn mood and enthusiasm. The final flash mob was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. It was at that moment that Shevchenko’s people were spiritually united by pride in the country and a bright faith in its development. The big Shevchenko family at the same time realized that the future depends on us, we form a nation and create the tomorrow of the Ukrainian state.
The festive program did not end there. For the freshmen, a quest trip was organized by the structural subdivisions of the university, where they learned about their functioning. So, among the locations there were a library, Coworking Center, Culture and Leisure Center, Marketing Department, Student Social Service, etc. Each of the participants had his own route sheet, thanks to which he quickly and interestingly passed this test.
So, quite imperceptibly, a festive day swept through the walls of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. Happy new academic year, dear friends! Steel patience, energy, wisdom, prudence, self-confidence and conquest of the highest peaks.
