The University Library Receives New Art Editions.

Recently, the library of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University was replenished with valuable new editions. The press service of the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education presented the university library and students of the B5 “Musical Art” specialty with three copies of the collection “Colors of Crimea: Arrangements of Crimean Tatar Folk Music for Piano” by Dzhemil Karikov.

The Rector of our University, Olena KARAMAN, personally conveyed her sincere gratitude for the donated books and emphasized their importance for the development of the university library and the educational environment.

This collection is an important contribution to the preservation and popularization of the Crimean Tatar musical heritage — an extremely original and profound part of the cultural heritage of the indigenous people of Ukraine. The book presents piano arrangements of folk songs and traditional instrumental melodies, which will become not only educational material, but also a valuable repertoire resource for future musicians.

One of the copies will remain in the university library, and the other two will be transferred to the department of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Arts, where they can be actively used by students during their training and creative activities.

The transfer of these publications was made possible thanks to the assistance of the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education within the framework of the “Maqam” project, which is implemented by the public organization Svitarta in partnership with the Union of Tatar Communities of Lithuania and supported by the European Union under the House of Europe program.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University sincerely thanks the benefactors for replenishing the library fund and is confident that these works will be useful for the training of future musicians and will be included in their repertoire.
