Halloween in a Mystical Atmosphere
4.11.2025
On October 31, the Halloween celebration among the student community of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism turned into a real mystical adventure, full of secrets, horrors and fun.
The celebration began with an exciting quest. Students, following the flickering lanterns, made their way to a room “sealed” with mystical amulets to expel evil spirits.
Inside, a series of mystical entertainments awaited the brave: they tried to look into the future by fortune-telling on a book, and also “got acquainted” with descriptions of creepy monsters from Eastern myths. Among them were Diaoxuegui (吊靴鬼) – “a spirit hanging on boots”, who likes to play pranks, chasing lonely passers-by, and Yigui (缢鬼) – “a hanged ghost”, who appears with disheveled hair and a blood-red tongue. During the discussion of scary urban legends, the students came to an unexpected conclusion: they unanimously decided that they would “no longer buy steamed buns with meat.”
A special part of the evening was a master class, where everyone was able to make their own talisman to protect against spirits. The culmination of the holiday was a costume contest. The participants demonstrated incredible ingenuity and skill, presenting their images in a wonderful fashion show. At the end of Halloween night, everyone played a few games of their favorite game “The Curse of the Blue Lotus,” which became the perfect finale, combining adrenaline, mysticism, and team spirit.
See you again at another exciting quest!
