National Flag Day of Ukraine

Students, teachers and employees of LTSNU joined the solemn ceremony of raising the National Flag of Ukraine.

On August 23, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, represented by the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr MOROZ, vice-rector Artur MOLDOVANOV, representatives of student self-government, students, teachers and employees of LTSNU, joined the solemn ceremony of raising the National Flag of Ukraine, which took place near the Lubny City Council.

The Day of the National Flag of Ukraine is a holiday dedicated to one of the most important symbols of our statehood. The blue-yellow flag is the personification of Ukrainian identity, courage, bravery and indomitability of the people fighting for the right to live in a free, independent country. It is under this flag that our soldiers today are fighting for Victory in difficult battles with Russian invaders in order to give a peaceful future to us, our children and grandchildren.

After a minute of silence in memory of those who died for Ukraine, the mayor of Lubny, Oleksandr HRYTSAIENKO, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

A special honor for the university community was the right to raise the National Flag of Ukraine, which was granted to the head of the student government of LTSNU Diana SAPI together with a representative of the Lubny RTCC. For Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, this event is a great pride and a symbol of the fact that even in times of the most difficult trials, the educators and students of the university remain faithful to Ukraine and its holy places.

The moment when our Flag rose in the sky over Lubny by the hands of a representative of the LTSNU student body became a vivid testimony that the generation of young Ukrainians takes on the responsibility to preserve and multiply the achievements of statehood.

The students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University are confident that only our blue-yellow colors will flutter over our native land – in every city and every corner of our country.
