Meeting Dedicated to the National Holidays

A meeting dedicated to the National Flag Day and the Independence Day of Ukraine took place. 

On August 22, 2025, on the eve of the grand state holidays – the Day of the National Flag and the Independence Day of Ukraine – a meeting with famous public figures, scientists, and artists took place at the Veteran Development Center, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. 

The event was opened by the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of LTSNU, Volodymyr MOROZ, who spoke about the Veteran Development Center, focusing on its main areas, which is located on the basis of the university, and introduced the guests to the university community. Among the participants of the meeting were teachers and students of LtsNU, representatives of public organizations and active citizens.

During the event, extremely valuable and significant memories were heard:

• Petro Vorona recalled the high price at which the Ukrainian people fought for freedom and the right to live under the blue-yellow flag.
• Mykola Karnaukh spoke about the process of creating and adopting the Constitution of Ukraine in 1996, emphasizing its historical significance for statehood and democracy.

Hanna Kiiashchenko and Zoia Kovalenko shared little-known facts from the history of 1988 about the production of the first State National Flag in Poltava Region and the circumstances of its first raising.

A special event was the presentation by artist Zoia Kovalenko of one of her patriotic embroidered works, the creation of which was also attended by Ukrainian defenders.

The guests actively communicated with the audience, answered questions and shared their experiences. The meeting ended with a friendly tea party and a joint photo as a souvenir.
