Meeting of the Specialized Council

On August 20, 2025, a meeting of a one-time specialized council was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

A dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty 052 – Political Science by Viktor Volodymyrovych Syrovatka on the topic: “Transformation of Ukraine’s Defense Potential in Conditions of Armed Aggression” was submitted for consideration and defense.

The scientific advisor was Svitlana Oleksandrivna Vovk, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The Council was headed by Anton Vasylovych Bader, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The invited opponents were – Hanna Viacheslavivna Muzychenko, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the State Educational Institution “South Ukrainian National University named after K. D. Ushynskyi”; Tetiana Mykhailivna Liashenko, Doctor of Political Sciences, Leading Researcher of the Department of Political Institutions and Processes of the I. F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnopolitical Research of the NAS of Ukraine; Volodymyr Fedorovych Smolianiuk, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Chief Researcher of the Yevhenii Berezniak Military Academy.

The reviewer was Liudmyla Oleksandrivna Novoskoltseva, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations of LTSNU.

By the decision of the Specialized Academic Council and the results of an open vote of the council members, the applicant was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
