World Games 2025 (Chengdu, China)

The World Games 2025 was held in the Chinese city of Chengdu.
The Ukrainian team also included representatives of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University – teachers and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Health Care and Sports.
The Ukrainian national powerlifting team once again confirmed its status as the strongest team in the world! Our athletes won 10 medals (2, 5, 3) and confidently led the medal standings, as at the 2022 Games in Birmingham.
We are particularly proud of the fact that a significant part of this triumph was made up of graduates and students of our university.

Kostiantyn Musienko (graduate of the ER IHCS) – champion of the World Games!

Volodymyr Rysev (student of the ER IHCS, Department of Olympic and Professional Sports) — silver medal

This is the third World Games medal in his career: Birmingham-2022, Wroclaw-2017.
Mykola Barannik (graduate and teacher of the ER IHCS) — bronze medalist

Result — 105.39 points
For Mykola, this is the second award of the World Games (Birmingham-2022).
Oleksii Bychkov (graduate of the ER IHCS) — bronze in the super heavyweight category
Squat — 400 kg
Bench press — 340 kg
Deadlift — 370 kg
Result — 107.41 points

5th place — Andrii Shevchenko (graduate of the ER IHCS)

So in the end, the Ukrainian powerlifting team won 10 medals (2, 5, 3) and confidently took first place in the world!
We would like to especially note that the ER IHCS graduate Serhii Bilyi, who is a member of the Powerlifting Hall of Fame, made his debut at the World Games as a coach this year. His student — Oksana Bila — won a silver medal in powerlifting, giving Ukraine another significant award.
This year’s World Games are a real TRIUMPH of LTSNU! We are proud of our athletes, coaches and graduates, who once again glorified Ukraine and their native university on the world stage.
