Participation in a Training Seminar

Teachers of the Social Pedagogy Department participated in a training seminar on the implementation of the discipline of youth policy and work.
On August 5–8, 2025, teachers of the Social Pedagogy Department of LTSNU, Nataliia Ostrovska and Nataliia Lytvynova, took part in a training seminar on the implementation of the discipline of youth policy and work, which was held in Kyiv.
“Training seminar for improving the qualifications of teachers on the implementation of the discipline of youth policy and work” was held within the framework of the project “Youth Participation and Politics: Strengthening Youth Involvement in Governance, Budgeting and Development of Life Skills in Lviv, Volyn and Zakarpattia Regions”, which is implemented by the NGO “Youth Platform” with the assistance of UNICEF and with the financial support of the Government of Germany through the German state development bank KFW.
The event is also held with the support of the Council of Europe project “Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase IV” and the Kyiv School of Economics.
The purpose of the event is to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers of higher education institutions who will implement a selective discipline aimed at a deep understanding of the essence of youth policy and youth work.
Among the trainers and facilitators are representatives of UNICEF, the Council of Europe, the Kyiv School of Economics, and the NGO “Youth Platform”, who shared their experience and modern approaches to teaching and developing youth work.
The program included a review of key concepts and subjects of youth policy, analysis of international experience, study of the principles of youth participation in decision-making, as well as acquisition of practical skills in the application of methods of non-formal education and group facilitation.
The knowledge and experience will be an important contribution to the development of educational programs of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and will become the basis for the high-quality implementation of a new selective discipline for the development of active youth among applicants to higher education institutions of Ukraine.
