Defense of Сoursework in the Ukrainian Language

The bachelor’s students defended coursework in the Ukrainian language and teaching methods.

On May 12, fourth-year students of the specialty “Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature)” successfully defended their coursework on the Ukrainian language and teaching methods.

The defense took place at the Ukrainian Language Department. The commission included the head of the department, teachers, including academic supervisors, who noted the independence of the coursework and creativity in developing methodological content.

Students presented the results of their research and methodological developments of Ukrainian language lessons or their fragments. The researched topics of the coursework were devoted to topical issues of philological science and the methodology of their implementation in the educational process of secondary education institutions. The speakers accompanied their speeches with presentations that illustrated the main provisions and results of the research, methodological developments of exercises and individual lessons.

High scores were given to coursework devoted to the formation of media literacy in Ukrainian language lessons, linguistic and methodological aspects of the concept of “faith” in song texts of modern Ukrainian performers, means of artistic expression in modern Ukrainian song discourse, etc.
Scientific and methodological cooperation of students and scientific supervisors creates appropriate conditions for the formation of professional competencies of students – future teachers of Ukrainian language and literature in secondary education institutions.

According to the results of the defense, a high level of linguistic and linguodidactic training of education applicants, a sufficient amount of theoretical knowledge and practical skills demonstrated by students were noted.
