Classes for Future Educators
12.5.2025
Classes for future educators were held at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology.
Within the educational component “Development and upbringing of early childhood”, first-year students majoring in “Preschool education” of the ER IPP participated in the production of sensory boxes for working with children of the second and third years of life.
It is known that sensory development is one of the leading areas in preschool education, especially at an early age, when a child actively learns the world through the senses – vision, hearing, touch, smell and taste. During this period, sensory impressions form the basis of thinking, speech, emotional development and motor skills.
One of the effective means of stimulating sensory development are sensory boxes – specially prepared containers with fillers (cereals, pasta, buttons, soft balls, etc.) and thematic objects that children can explore with their hands. They arouse lively interest in toddlers, provide natural play motivation, promote the development of fine motor skills, visual-tactile perception, attention, speech, and also help relieve emotional stress.
The students learned to paint cereals (rice, semolina) and pasta in bright colors using safe materials – food coloring, gouache, and vinegar.
Future educators acquired skills in creating simple sensory development tools that are actively used in working with children 1–3 years old. During the work, the applicants independently prepared a set of colored cereals and discussed ways to use them in the educational process. Such practical skills help future educators to be creative and effectively organize a developmental environment for the youngest students.
Together to victory!
