Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism
9.5.2025
At the initiative of the directorate of the ER IPP, an online event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II was held.
The event was joined by teachers and students of the institute. The moderator was the Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work.
The celebration of the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism began with an introductory speech by the director of the Institute, who emphasized that every Ukrainian family remembers the contribution of their ancestors to the victory. Honoring this contribution supports the dignity of Ukrainian citizens and the reputation of our country in the world.
In her speech, the deputy director for educational work focused on the rethinking of the mentioned date by Ukrainians in the conditions of a full-scale war.
The event continued with the presentation “Ukraine in World War II”, prepared by the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance. During the presentation, the moderator reminded that more than 10 years ago, Ukraine joined the tradition of celebrating the victory over Nazism in the European spirit – we do not celebrate, but honor. Our country expresses respect and gratitude to all fighters against Nazism, perpetuates the memory of fallen soldiers and victims of war in the history of mankind. During the event, a minute of silence was declared for the fallen.
It was emphasized that the memory of the war should not lead to the cult of victory, but to develop the ability to appreciate peace.
Today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine defend not only our country, but all countries of Europe and provide a chance to build peace and create a new, global security system. The condition for this is victory and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The main slogan in Ukraine is “We Remember! We Win!”
