Master Class and Round Table

A guest lecture-master class by the stakeholder Polina Vasileha was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, and a round table “Ukrainian Philologist and the Modern Scientific and Educational Paradigm” – 2025 was held.

On April 30, 2025, as part of the Science Days, students majoring in A4 Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature) and invited guests listened to a lecture-master class “Tutoring Approach to Teaching Ukrainian Language and Literature”, which was given by external stakeholder Polina Vasileha – Deputy Director for Educational Work, Ukrainian Language and Literature Teacher at Lysychansky Lyceum No. 17, Severodonetsk District, Luhansk Region, Regional Coordinator for the Implementation of the Tutoring Cutch-Up in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Certified Tutor and Supervisor of the All-Ukrainian Project from the NGO “Teach for Ukraine”. The lecturer clarified the issue of the importance of tutoring in modern language and literature education, the role of the tutor in the formation of the personality of the student, demonstrated the practical application of the main tutoring tools, involving the audience in completing the tasks.

The round table “Ukrainian linguist and the modern scientific and educational paradigm” was devoted to discussing the problems raised in the lecture. Teachers of Ukrainian language and literature of secondary education institutions, students and lecturers of higher education institutions of Ukraine took part in the work of the round table, initiated by the Department of the Ukrainian language. The purpose of the scientific event was to identify and discuss the current problems of the modern scientific and educational paradigm and the role and place in it of the Ukrainian linguist – a scientist, lecturer, teacher; approbation of the results of research on the formation of professional competencies of a linguist.

The moderator of the round table, the head of the Ukrainian language department, Alla Nikitina, addressed the participants of the round table with a welcoming speech, noting: “Close cooperation between institutions of general secondary and higher education is becoming a necessary condition for the sustainable development of a modern educational environment focused on the implementation of effective mechanisms and methods of interaction.”

During the panel discussion, a lively discussion among the participants of the round table was sparked by the issues of cooperation between a teacher and students, the importance of forming their motivation for learning, fair assessment of program competencies, etc. Such professional communication with internal and external stakeholders contributes to the work on improving educational programs for training future secondary education specialists – teachers of literature.

The resolution of the round table determined that the modern educational process goes beyond the boundaries of the educational institution, now it is integrated into the electronic information and educational environment, uniting all interested parties – internal and external stakeholders. Today, Ukrainian philologists are faced with the task of constantly improving their professional skills, developing close cooperation between secondary and higher education institutions in the training of future philologists and improving the skills of teachers and lecturers in educational institutions.

The participants of the round table received certificates based on the results of self-education as a form of professional training for scientific and pedagogical and pedagogical workers.
