Dialogue of Cultures in Difficult Times

The International Scientific and Practical Conference «Dialogue of Cultures in Difficult Times» was held at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology and Journalism, at the Department of Literary Studies, Oriental Philology and Translation.

The participants of the conference were students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology and Journalism of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, as well as leading scientists from various higher education institutions in Ukraine and abroad. In particular, the conference was attended by leading scientists, university teachers from such countries as Poland, the People’s Republic of China, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The online form of scientific communication gave the participants the opportunity to discuss such topical issues as the theory and practice of teaching dialogue of cultures in a digital environment; linguistic, sociocultural and intercultural problems of translation, innovative technologies in language teaching; the connection between politics and art. A distinctive feature of the conference was its interactive nature, namely the fact that the discussion of the reports sometimes lasted longer than the report or presentation itself. The language of communication was mainly English.
