A meeting with a key stakeholder of educational programs in specialties 032 “History and Archaeology” and 014 “Secondary Education (History and Civic Education)” took place at the ER ISHS.
During April 14–18, a working trip of the assistant of the Department of History and Archaeology, Yevheniia Shevtsova, took place to the Luhansk Regional Museum of Local Lore (Kyiv). The meeting was an important event in the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and the key stakeholder of educational programs in specialties 032 “History and Archaeology” and 014 “Secondary Education (History and Civic Education)” – the Luhansk Regional Museum of Local Lore.
During the visit, Yevheniia Shevtsova held a meaningful meeting with the museum staff and personally with the museum director, Olesia Volodymyrivna Mylovanova. The main goal was to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, in particular in educational, scientific and methodological areas. The focus of the conversation was on areas of joint work to improve the practical training of applicants, the involvement of museum employees in the educational process, the possibility of student participation in museum initiatives, exhibition activities and cultural and educational projects.
The Luhansk Regional Museum of Local Lore has been an active participant in the academic life of the university for a long time. The museum employees not only conduct guest lectures within the courses “Museology”, “Historical Local Lore” and “Fundamentals of Ethnography”, “History of Ukraine”, but also participate in professional conferences, discussion club meetings, open lectures, and are always involved in discussing the content and structure of educational programs.
During the meeting, the format of educational and industrial internships for students at the museum, the possibilities of preparing joint research projects, as well as plans to involve students in the implementation of initiatives aimed at preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of the Luhansk region were discussed.
Yevheniia Shevtsova, as a representative of the university, invited the museum staff to participate in future events planned at the Educational and Research Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences and the university as a whole. Among such events are the conference “Luhansk region – local history explorations”, a meeting of the discussion club “SKIF”, as well as events dedicated to the Museum Day.
Partnerships with the museum are an important component of the educational and scientific process, contributing to the preservation of historical memory, the development of the humanitarian environment of the region and the formation of relevant directions in the field of historical research. The participation of museum specialists in the discussion and development of educational programs is especially important, which improves the quality of professional training of students and ensures that the educational content meets the modern challenges of historical science. We express our gratitude to the Luhansk Regional Museum of Local Lore for the meaningful meeting, professional dialogue and long-term cooperation.
