Online Lecture on Labor Protection Day

On April 24, an important educational event organized by the Labor Protection Department of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took place via the Zoom platform.

The lecture on the topic: “Youth at work: why are injuries higher?” and “Organization and holding of Labor Protection Day in 2025”. The event was held by Oleksandr Viktorovych Chapek – Chief State Inspector of the Department of Supervision of Labor Safety of the Western Region of the Inspection Department of the Eastern Interregional Department of the State Labor Service of Ukraine.

The meeting discussed extremely important and relevant issues of labor protection, in particular the problems of youth in the workplace, risks that are often underestimated, as well as typical mistakes that lead to an increase in the level of industrial injuries.

Mr. Chapek emphasized the need to form a culture of labor safety from the first days of professional activity, as young workers have increased vulnerability due to lack of experience, imperfect knowledge of rights and obligations in the field of labor protection, as well as frequent underestimation of risks.

The lecture aroused keen interest among students and university employees, because occupational safety is not only the employer’s duty, but also a conscious choice of every citizen to take care of their health and life.

We sincerely thank Oleksandr Viktorovych Chapek for an interesting and useful meeting, as well as the Department of Occupational Safety for organizing an event that will undoubtedly contribute to raising awareness among young people about occupational safety and reducing the level of injuries in Ukraine.
