EVENTS DEDICATED TO THE WORLD VYSHYVANKA DAY
24.4.2025
This year (May 15), World Vyshyvanka Day is dedicated to the preservation of Ukrainian cultural heritage occupied by Russia.
1. Event “Save for Posterity”
We invite all structural divisions of the university, as well as everyone who wants, to join the action on the occasion of Vyshyvanka Day!
We suggest creating one of the following video formats:
- a short film;
- a presentation;
- a poetic or song composition;
- other creative formats.
The topic is stories about unique ornaments, color schemes of embroideries from native lands, personal memories, life stories about vyshyvanka, the fate of vyshyvanka, stories about the features of vyshyvanka from the occupied territories or from the places where you are now.
If possible, show family relics: exported or preserved vyshyvanka, towels that have historical or emotional value.
Send your works by May 9, 2025 to: lnu.pressa@gmail.com
In the letter, be sure to indicate:
- the title of the work in the nomination “Save for posterity”;
- the structural subdivision.
From May 10 to 15, your creative works will be published on the official pages of LTSNU in social networks.
Together we will preserve memory and traditions!
2. Traditional embroidery exhibition “Colors Intertwined in a Rainbow”
Format: at the locations of the units and online, on pages in social networks.
3. Photo contest in the following categories:
- “My family in vyshyvanka”,
- “United by embroidered fate” – a team photo,
- “I am Ukrainian”
To become a participant, you need to fulfill very simple conditions:
Dream up and take a creative photo in vyshyvanka.
Send a photo to the contest jury, indicating the nomination, last name, first name, participant, structural unit, position (student, teacher, employee) to the address: pressa@gmail.com
Photos are accepted until May 17, 2025 (so that they can send interesting photos from Vyshyvanka Day).
4. “My Home in Vyshyvanka” Contest
Thematically decorate the premises of the directorate or another room of your unit in the style of Ukrainian embroidery — towels, national colors, folk decor.
The participating units are located in: Lubny, Poltava, Myrhorod, Dolyna, and Chornomorsk
The jury will determine the winners on site, taking into account creativity, relevance to the theme and the general atmosphere of the design.
Let’s create a space together where the Ukrainian soul lives!
